Stewardship
- Workdays on NEWLT owned preserves
- Invasive species removal
- Posting signs
- Debris clean-up
- Monitor protect properties and follow up paperwork
(involves travel)
- Join our Land Stewardship Committee
Volunteers are needed to help maintain the beauty
and vitality of the land through the removal invasive species, litter, and
rubbish from the preserves. Monitors visit conservancies yearly and report
findings to staff. Office visit to pick up and drop off field binder, as well
as paperwork will need to be completed after the site visit. Site visits
involve travel to all of the beautiful areas we protect and monitoring the
land. Training will be provided.
Community Outreach and
Education
- Presenting information about NEWLT to
the community (requires public speaking)
- Creating or working on education programs that
support our mission
- Taking our display to events and answering the
questions about the Land Trust (training will be provided)
- Landowner outreach (requires travel)
- Public relations/marketing- design brochures,
create videos
- Coordinating and/or working at events and
field trips
- Advertising events and field trips
- Providing photography for events
- Fundraising
Community education is essential to our mission. Volunteers will partake in
activities that educate the public about our organization and how we protect
land in Northeast Wisconsin. Volunteers will stand next to our display and
share information about NEWLT. You will put together educational events and
coordinate and participate in field trips. Working at events and field trips
may involve traveling, educating the public on the need to protect land and the
value of nature. Volunteers can use their marketing and public relation skills
to design creative ways to get the word out about the Land Trust and the events
we put on. Fundraising is also an area that volunteers can participate in.
Coordinating and planning fundraising events are all activities volunteers can
become a part of.
Office Administration

The NEWLT is looking for an office administrator,
someone who can dedicate one or two hours a week to help us in the office. The
office administrator would create thank you letters, file forms, do record
keeping, and other office duties.
Membership Coordinator
- Dedicated volunteer to provide their service
3-4 times per year
- Help with mailings
- Write letters
- Monitor responses
We are looking for a handful
of volunteers to help us 3-5 times a year with membership opportunities. They
will help with all aspects of the mailing, from researching addresses to
stamping the envelope.
