Protected Land: Hall IV Emmons Creek Hobart Farms (Waupaca County)

Location: Waupaca County

Area protected: 75 acres

Protection strategy: conservation easement

This property is the fourth and final addition to our Emmons Creek Conservancy bringing the total protected acres to 286. This conservancy contains shoreline of Long Lake which is the longest section of natural and undeveloped shoreline on the Chain O' Lakes. It also contains valuable spawning habitat for northern pike. The jewels of this property are the many wetlands aging in the preservation of Emmons Creek and Emmons Lake. Excluding the red pine plantings and fields, most of the land is forested deciduous with a fair amount of alder thickets in the lower areas.

  • white-tailed deer
  • pileated woodpecker
  • bluejay
  • crow
  • chickadee
  • sandhill crane
