Manager of Environmental at American Transmission Company

Michelle has worked in the environmental field for 21 years and in the utility industry for 17 years. She is currently Manager of Environmental at American Transmission Company. Michelle has an undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Northern Iowa and a master’s degree in environmental science and policy from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay. Michelle has a passion for using business strategies and technology to support and reinforce environmental policies within the utility industry.

 

Growing up in Iowa, she enjoyed spending time at her Grandparent’s farm where her love for the land and outdoors was ignited. Michelle is married to Chris, who shares her love of the outdoors and introduced her to hunting; they have one son. Michelle enjoys anything outdoors with her family but has an affinity for hiking in the mountains. Additionally, Michelle enjoys fitness in all forms, specifically running, biking and lifting.

 

As a new board member, Michelle is eager to support and advocate for the preservation of land, which she believes is key to protecting the long-term integrity of our environment.
